The new open air observation deck opened to public on June 25th, in addition to the incredible panoramic views of Southern California, the observation deck boasts a breath taking thrill factor, the opportunity to experience the Skyslide, a 45-foot outdoor, glass slide.
"We are certain that OUE Skyspace LA will grow to become an integral part of the booming downtown LA culture," said OUE’s Lucy Rumantir, president and chief executive officer, the Americas. "This is a momentous occasion not only for OUE, but for the whole city of Los Angeles."
"Los Angeles is beloved for its incredible architecture and natural beauty, and now everyone has the opportunity to be a part of it in a whole new way," said Mayor Eric Garcetti. "OUE Skyspace LA will give millions of Angeleno’s and visitors from everywhere an unforgettable experience — taking in our entire cityscape from a breath taking vantage point."
The Skyspace will be open all year round, allowing tourists and locals to experience the view deck and slide in all seasons. The glass of the slide is only 3.2 cm thick, but can withstand hurricane-force winds and even a powerful earthquake; brave visitors can pay $25 to slide down the 45 foot long slide of bulletproof glass nearly 305 metres in the air.
