Designed by the US-based architectural firm Interior Design Associates, the new addition will be a single-storey, ranch style design located just south of the existing Independent Living building. It will add 67 more apartment homes to the campus.

The new homes will include 43 assisted living apartment homes for seniors who need more assistance and care, and 24 Memory Care apartment homes for seniors facing Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Complementing the current community and the city at large, the new expansion will also include a new spa, resort style fire place, multi-purpose theatre room, a learning enrichment room, a private dining room and a café.

Surrounded by mature landscaping, the new addition has been designed to provide personalised family care to the residents.

Overland Park’s Purdum Construction has been hired for pre-development and construction management services for the project. Other companies who are engaged in design are Schlagel and Associates, CFS Engineers, and Beery Rio Architects.

The new addition to the campus is scheduled to open by 2013.
