The renovation project has been awarded to global interior architectural design firm Wilson Associates. The renovation of the 50-storey hotel will see the expansion of all 1,780 rooms, suites and the Sheraton club lounge of the hotel.

The seating capacity of the The Sheraton Club Lounge, located in the 45th floor of the hotel, will be expanded. An integrated business center with three computers and a printer will be added to the lounge.

The first phase of the renovation, scheduled to be completed by May 2011, will see the re-designing of the hotel’s 1080 rooms, 32 suites and club lounge.

The hotel will be designed in keeping with Sheraton brand’s new design scheme that includes addition of rich colour palates, graphic patterns and clean lines. The guestrooms will be fitted with low credenzas and wall-mounted flat panel televisions and energy efficient, four-pipe HVAC system which allows guests to control the thermostat.

The guestrooms will also be equipped with radio frequency identification locks as part of the renovation project. The project will also include the addition of mini-bar units built into the wall while all beds will be designed to meet the AAA’s Five Diamond Award criteria.

Renovation of the remaining guest rooms will begin in December 2011 and be completed in April 2012.
