The SixE stacking chair, designed by PearsonLloyd and manufactured by Howe has won a Red Dot Design Award.
The stacking chair, which comes in a range of colour and material options has already been named Best of Best at Interior Innovation Award as well as the Winner at Green Product Award.
The idea behind SixE was to design the most efficient, sturdy and long-lasting solution to the ubiquitous stacking shell chair.
‘Based on this brief we knew that SixE had the potential to win several design awards. Even so we are immensely proud of winning such an international acknowledged award as the Red Dot’, says Howe’s marketing manager Lars Bruntse.
According to Howe and PearsonLloyd, the name of the chair is derived from the core aspects which informed the project ambition. ‘This is unified in the six E’s: Ergonomic, Efficient, Elegant, Environmental, Economic, and Easy, and is what’s so innovative about SixE.’
Established in 1955, the Red Dot Design Award recognises the best design concepts in each year and is open to both established companies and students.
