The project will construct a new station building including ticket office, passenger lounge, toilet and shop. It will also have new lifts and stairs to replace old ramps. The station will have better lighting and CCTV cameras will be installed in the station. It will also have improved information signs and screens.
The access road to the station will be improved. The station will also have disabled parking and cycle stands. The pedestrian entrance will be renovated to make it more welcoming. The platform will have new canopies to provide better shelter for waiting passengers.
