“When we were given the opportunity to provide an original 1950’s interior I was elated, given that the ‘Retro’ look is en vogue at the moment,” explains Mandy Regan, project designer. “Unfortunately the majority of Retro materials available were for light domestic use, not the heavy contract we required. We discovered on site a small area of original 1950’s vinyl flooring which we decided to replicate. I needed a flooring manufacturer who could provide cost effective heavy contract vinyl, in the right colours, and an Auto CAD floor plan. Tarkett came up trumps with all the requirements. The Floorcraft team produced a layout to suit the plan: easy if you have a square room, not so if you have one area that is rectangular flanked by another connecting area that is circular spanning over 7 metres wide, with a tartan pattern! The main circles and tartan pattern were delivered in large ready assembled pieces and we allowed a 300mm border for tolerance. My client and I were delighted with the end product.”
