The $14 million six-acre campus features 24,000 square feet infant and early childhood center, religious school and offices. The campus features 18 classrooms, with officials planning to add a further 6,000 square feet addition to the building.
Temple Beth El’s learning campus has been designed by integrating green elements. The building’s design makes optimum use of sunlight as an energy source. Indoor air quality is maintained throughout the facility. A covered courtyard has been added between the classrooms, which functions as a park. Windows of the classrooms are positioned in a way to face the open courtyard, allowing kids to have a view of the park-like setting outside.
Other green elements include low and no volatile organic compound (VOC) paint and flooring, an economical air-conditioning system and water conserved toilets and urinals. The school is planning to install solar heating system. About 65% of the construction materials at the site have also been recycled.
Temple Beth El of Boca Raton seeks to provide a spiritual home for the Jewish community. Three houses are featured in the home – a house of worship, a house of learning, and a house of community.
