The building is the first multi-family development project in the state to win the certification. It has been designed by a collaboration of Moody·Nolan Architects and Dryden Abernathy Architecture and Design with Nashville’s Bomar Construction serving as the developer. The facility sports a modern industrial look featuring 109 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and studio apartments for renters with 60% or less of area median income.
The facility imbibes various green features such as a white cool roof which repels heat during the warmer months. The lighting fixtures installed in the structure run low on energy consumption. It has also been equipped with Energy Star-certified appliances.
The interior courtyard of the facility incorporates a rainwater storage and treatment system, and drought-tolerant plants to reduce irrigation needs. The carpet, flooring, tile and wood cabinets adorning the building possess reclaimed content. Recycling over 80% of all construction debris added to the building’s sustainability.
