Built by TivoliToo Inc., a design, sculpting and 3D development company, the centre is designed with an arc theme. The ark theme continues on the inside of the building. Young patients can sit on a horse saddle for digital X-rays, watch TVs mounted on the ceiling during some procedures and sit on benches that are designed as more ‘climbable and comfortable’ than chairs. The pre- and post-operative area of the space is equipped with touch-screen monitors featuring educational activities and video games.

The interior design of the Dental Ark resembles a day care and has been designed to create a welcome and calm environment for children who come for dental checkups and procedures. The entire space resonates with pictures of animals of all sizes, textures and colours that smile at the patients.

The facility recently completed a new façade that features a massive 3D ark with animals overlooking the asphalt parking lot. It features three clinical bays, each with its own hygienist and dental assistant, and an in-house laboratory.

The Dental Ark originally opened as the Children’s Dentistry of El Paso on the city’s East Side in 2008.
