Brooklyn-based studio Streicher Goods and lan Love, a sculptor and furniture designer, have joined forces to create several furniture pieces that combine hand-carved wood with hand-built ceramics.

Collection I highlights the unity between the forms of Streicher’s ceramics and Love’s sculpted wooden surfaces. This first collection consists of: three side tables featuring ceramic or wooden bases, wooden tops and inset ceramic discs; a bleached ash bench with upholstered seats and large ceramic end caps; and an architecturally sculpted console table made from stacked ceramic pieces.

Collection I is said to embody ‘a raw yet refined aesthetic, with sculpted architectural and organic forms, celebrating the beauty of natural materials and traditional techniques’.

It represents the first collaboration between Streicher Goods and Love, with the plan being for the duo to continue iterating.

Love works primarily in reclaimed and locally sourced wood. Ethan Streicher, meanwhile, is the founder and artist behind Streicher Goods, a studio creating handcrafted ceramics furnishings. Ranging from lighting to handmade furniture, Streicher combines sculptural elements with functional design to create ‘timeless, tactile pieces for modern spaces’.
