The fit-out was delivered two weeks early and within budget specified by GE. The design features an open-plan scheme which was earlier tried out by GE within its Oman offices. The success of the project encouraged GE to adopt the same format at its Muscat office.
The reception area, fitted out by The Interiors Group, uses the GE branding which is complemented by the arabesque marble flooring. Clean beiges and cream colour scheme complements the interesting blue feature wall whilst encompassing the feature ceiling lit with GE Blue LED lighting. Also located to one side of the reception wall, are the larger-than-life images, captioned: “GE Works” “Powering” & “Building” that reinforces the company brand.
The design also incorporates the Ideas Centre, which is based within the main office space. Blue back lit painted glass with break out seating encourages team members to meet informally for brainstorming and ‘think outside of the box’ sessions. This space has been accentuated through the use of blue carpeting, while the rest of the office space uses standard corporate carpeting.
The group partnered with BlueHaus for both architectural and mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) design, while EC Harris acted as GE’s project manager and cost consultant.
