British design company Robert Welch received an admirable accolade last month for their Signature Knife Block Set. Taking home one of the country’s most prestigious awards, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and Innovation 2017, the knife set promises durability, comfort and superior design.
The knife set has minimal design nailed down made from the highest quality German stainless steel and DuPont handles. Royal approval did not come easy though, the design took years of careful development at Chipping Campden, the same original silk mill the company was founded over 60 years ago.

The robust set includes a collection of six of the Signature’s best-selling kitchen knives, leaving you with plenty of opportunity to put each one to its use.
The set includes a carving knife for carving meat and poultry, a bread knife to sear through crusty loaves, a cook’s knife for all purpose chopping, kitchen knife for peeling and slicing, serrated knife for cutting food with tough skin and a vegetable knife for peeling and slicing small veggies and fruits.
Overall the knife block is a stunning representation of craftsmanship. The handles are smooth and comfortable to touch whilst the sharpness of the blade makes chopping and slicing pleasant, effortlessly gliding through vegetables and fruits.

Another commendable feature is the block’s innovative sharpener, nestled in-between the six knives within an integrated sharpening wheel that is designed to hone its edges to a 15 degree angle for ultimate sharpness and performance on the chopping board.
You can purchase the knife set online at Robert Welch for £335.
