The park will spread across 5.4 acres, spanning the Woodall Rodgers Freeway, and will connect uptown and downtown Dallas, while the restaurant will acquire 6,000 square feet of area.

The architects are expected to document construction design and planning for both the restaurant and the pavilion within a week. The restaurant is slated to include indoor and outdoor seating, and a café to cater to the park and pavilion visitors.

Woodall Rodgers Park has received a federal stimulus fund of $16.7 million to begin construction of both the park and the restaurant, while another $77.7 million has been raised in public and private funds.

The park authorities expect to raise $20 million to $25 million in private funding for the park’s amenities and operations in the next phase of campaigning, which will also look for naming rights for the facility.
