Commercial interior design agency Trifle has partnered with Swedish furniture manufacturer Johanson to create the company’s first showroom in London.
The collaboration follows Trifle’s redesign of the showroom for custom commercial and office furniture company Deadgood, which impressed Johanson and led to this new project.
The brief for Trifle was to illustrate a design evolution, transitioning from traditional task chairs and desks to more innovative and engaging products that reflect the changing nature of workspaces towards collaboration and comfort. The showroom aims to function as a hub for clients and specifiers, as well as a venue for internal events and presentations. Trifle’s design needed to accommodate these functions within a compact space.
The design features a series of functional zones that highlight the range of Johanson’s collections, with core pieces incorporated into curated areas. It incorporates white pillars and muted floor tones to create a balanced aesthetic. Space-saving solutions include a display unit for chairs concealed behind a curtain.
Trifle developed a floorplan that accommodates various presentation formats for events and meetings, enabling furniture to be rearranged or stored as needed. An installation space at the entrance showcases new products and shares brand stories.
