The new NICU has been designed to provide care for advanced levels of complications in premature infants, including ventilator support services for brief periods.

Located on the second floor of the hospital, the new $3.5 million NICU is a 1,629 square feet unit. Equipped with modern technologies to treat infants, the NICU features eight new beds.

Supporting the needs of patients and family members with a premature infant needing specialised care, the special NICU features a family bonding room, breast feeding support by a certified lactation consultant, new patient monitoring equipment, and new neonatal ventilation equipment.

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center, part of TriStar Health, is a 109 bed facility, which offers a full array of acute care services, including emergency care, general surgery, cardiology, obstetrics, intensive care, physical medicine, outpatient diagnostic services, and cancer care.

The hospital celebrated its new unit with a ribbon cutting ceremony on 16 May and opened the door of its unit to the patients on 20 May 2013.
