The new state-of-the-art Anschutz Health and Wellness Center spanning 94,000 square feet is designed to serve as a gateway to the UC Denver’s AMC.
The four-storey facility will feature a dynamic nutrition lab and bistro on the ground floor. The fitness area with two-storey volume is expressed through a transparent appearance on the north façade. This will help in projecting an active image to the campus and community. The fitness centre will be equipped with state-of-the-art exercise equipment and technology. Amenities such as, a warm-water therapy pool, steam room, sauna, whirlpool, running/walking track, demonstration kitchen and exercise studios will also be featured.
A second floor is designed to house clinical trials centre, which can enjoy overlap relationships to the fitness lab, classrooms and offices located on the third and fourth floors. The third floor houses holistic wellness lounge, adjacent to a roof garden featuring mountain views of Colorado.
The new centre scheduled for completion in early 2012, is designed in a way to promote a new culture of sustainable healthy lifestyles and disease prevention on campus. Research and care will focus on alternative and complementary medicines, holistic wellness, weight management and nutrition.
