Located on the Genneper Parken sports estate in Eindhoven, the new sports college is a 16,500 square metre facility. It features five sports halls, a climbing wall, a restaurant and an underground car park with 200 parking places. One of the sports hall has a capacity of 500, while the entire college has a capacity for 2,000 students.
The new college has a dark brick wall that features images of sporting figures, such as a swimmer, a footballer, and a hockey player. The building has a glass facade on the ground floor, which conceals brightly coloured walls with graphics of sporting icons. The central element of the new building is its 15m high climbing wall, featuring an enormous window.
The design of the building met the stringent guidelines of the Netherlands Olympic Committee. A case in point is no daylighting in the halls, which was achieved through reflection. The college opened on 25 October 2012.
