The new GBP5 million ($7.9 million approx) building on the Knowledge Gateway campus will be designed to house the university’s International Centre for Democracy, Peace and Human Rights.
University wants the building to be designed as the centerpiece of the 40-acre site which is being developed in partnership with Carisbrooke Alliance. A notice has been placed in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) inviting interest from eligible contractors to implement the works, and the deadline is February 1, 2010. The chosen contractor will have to be on site by April 2010 to achieve the target date.
The professionals appointed to develop the infrastructure of the Knowledge Gateway are: Northcroft as project manager, Rambolt as civil engineers, The Potter Raper Partnership as cost consultants, The Landscape Partnership as landscape architects and EC Harris as health as safety consultants.
