University of Kentucky and Follett Higher Education Group, which bagged the renovation contract, has completed the total facelift last week. The new 23,000 square feet space features wider aisles, a greater selection of merchandise and an accessible, inviting new entrance on Euclid Avenue.
An additional 7,000 square feet on the store with modified fixtures provides more efficient access during the high volume activities of textbook sales. The additional space also features progressive glass design including an extra entrance besides better natural lighting.
The product line also underwent a change with trademark clothing as well as bestselling fiction and nonfiction, magazines, and books published by University Press of Kentucky getting on the shelves.
These changes are all made with the objective of enhancing the shopping experience, said Sally Wiatrowski, bookstore director.
“This store will be a campus destination for textbooks, trade books, and Wildcat imprinted clothing, which includes a Nike shop for men and special sections for women’s and children’s apparel,” she said.
Follet Higher Education Group is a part of the Follett Corporation, one of United States’ leading operators of college bookstores with more than 760 campus bookshops across the US and Canada.
