V3 is a 60,000 square feet facility. The building features a power-efficient design that reduces power loss during transmission. The effective power usage helps the building save over $3 million per annum in operating expenses when compared to a standard 6MW data centre.
The lighting design of the facility is 41% more efficient than the minimum standard prescribed by Title 24 Energy Code. The facility’s HVAC design is established on the New Building Institutes Core Performance Guide and was awarded additional points for complying with this guideline, together with ASHRAE 55 guidelines. The new data centre also features Energy Star appliances.
The project involved usage of 20% recycled materials in construction. The data center also diverted 91% of the construction waste from landfills. The landscape of the facility has water-efficient design that reduces demand for water.
