The lamp is made of pulped packaging spread over a particular mould, smoothened with hand and left to dry for several days. The outer structure for each of the lamps is created from four paper egg cartons.
The base was stabilized with the use of a bag of bird seed. A cloth electrical cord and recyclable electrical bulb were installed with each section of the lamps exteriors joined together with aluminum screw posts.
The focus of the lamp design is to create a product that is born from trash and returned to trash after a short span. The lamp has been named ‘Trash Me’ based on this concept. It can be easily dismantled and the parts to be reused or recycled back into the trash.
