The renovated ER features a relocated entrance, new nurses’ station, additional exam rooms and new equipments.

The ER provides more space to cater to the growing number of patients and is more user friendly, comments Lynn Patton, manager of the emergency room department.

The refurbished facility is equipped with the latest equipment and also offers cosmetical appeal, says Dr. Kevin Fox, medical director for the emergency department.

The expansion and renovation project has been successful in enhancing emergency services by streamlining the patient experience in the emergency department, says Eric Deaton, the hospital’s chief executive officer.

The second phase of renovation is now underway. This includes renovation of the former emergency room and registration area. Phase two is expected to be complete by May 11, 2009.

Once the entire renovation is completed, there will be a total of 13 rooms, including an isolation room and three triage rooms.
