The $6.9 million Health Sciences 2 Parking Deck will be designed to a 100-year standard and will feature complex systems. Scheduled to be completed in 300 days, the project will be a cast-in-place, post-tensioned deck.

Designed to secure Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, the project will incorporate sustainability features such as construction waste recycling, light-reflective surfaces on the deck’s top two floors and use of concrete with corrosion inhibitors.

The parking deck will be connected to a future academic building. The architect of record for the parking facility is North Carolina-based BBH Design. The project is scheduled to complete in early 2011.
