Located at 11900 St. Charles Rock Road, the new store has been designed on the Walmart anthem for providing fast service, a friendly shopping experience and clean stores to the customers.
The store follows a new layout which make the shopping experience more convenient. A case in point is the placement of the pharmacy next to health and beauty section. The layout is easy to navigate. The store has grouped most frequently purchased products at one location, which add to the convenience of the shoppers.
The company has done up the interiors in bright colour palette, which makes the store more inviting. The store is marked by lower shelving throughout, as well as directional signage on every aisle. The customer service desk and the Site-to-Store pick-up have been placed at one location, near the entrance.
Construction of the store reveals Walmart’s efforts to protect the environment. The new Walmart incorporates a host of sustainable elements. It has been equipped with LED lighting fixtures throughout which are 70% more efficient compared to conventional fluorescent lighting. The store also has efficient water fixtures to minimise water consumption and wastage.
The construction was done using some amount of recycled material to create the concrete flooring of the store. The floor boasts of a finish, which negates the use of chemical for cleaning purposes. The bathrooms have low-flow toilets and faucets, which reduces water consumption.
