The refurbishment of the gym involved resurfacing some of the walls, installation of new bleachers, and a hardwood floor.
The refurbishment comes as a result of cancellation of games last winter as the condensation made the floor too slippery, Dee Gibson, executive director of White’s Residential and Family Services was quoted as saying in the local media.
The renovation also includes installation of a new pool liner at the school’s swimming pool, which is planned for laterthis year. Gibson said that the project is being funded through donations from private individuals as well as businesses from those areas.
Gibson said the project had been pending for the past several years, action was finally taken to install a wooden floor at the gym last winter after it became obvious that condensation made the floor slippery and dangerous for players and match officials.
