Designed by UK-based architecture firm S&P Architects, the project involves renovation and retrofitting of the historic Acton Town Hall and Baths to accommodate an array of leisure, community and civic services. The renovation will infuse new life into the 20th century-built Acton Town Hall complex.
Scope of work involves construction of a new, three-storey building at the site of the former baths building, which will be completely erased. The new building will have a 25m swimming pool and a trainer pool, alongside a large advanced fitness and leisure facilities including a large gym and two studios. The new building will be linked to the part of Acton Town Hall that runs along Uxbridge Road.
The Town Hall will also undergo an extensive renovation, and will create space for a new library and council offices. The project also involves development of a community space, including two flexible 200 square metre areas. The project will return the original frontage and the baths chimney, a Grade II-listed structure to its original grandeur. The renovation will aim at retaining the heritage of the pristine building.
A part of the Town Hall will also be redeveloped in order to create space for a new library and council offices. The Town Hall’s frontage and baths chimney will also be retained.
