The new facility features a larger waiting room, a laboratory and six examining rooms. The previous 1,000 square feet building had only two examining rooms and an inadequate laboratory.

The transfer to the larger facility was due increasing demand from unemployed and uninsured patients. Officials of the nonprofit clinic, opened in 2001, are considering increasing operating hours to further improve services.

The improvement project was financed by a $550,000 donation from a charitable trust named for Walter and Grace Merten of Dodge County. The money was used to lease and renovate the two-story building. The clinic also enjoys the voluntary service of 120 physicians, nurses and other staff.
