The revamp work commenced in March 2011. It will serve the high school swim team in addition to the Croton and Hen Hud swim teams. Work included creation of new wall, ceiling tiles, sound-proof panels, benches, and diffusers.
The upgraded facility also features an infiltration system and an air dehumidifier. It helps in phasing out chlorine odour from the pool complex. In addition, the pool will facilitate the handicapped following the makeover with the installation of a lift which can be accessed by the disabled. The lift can submerge a person three feet into the water and can be operated inside the pool too. It is located outside of the pool when not in use and hence does not cause any space constraints.
The project has received contributions of $37 million in a bond approved in 2006.
