The facility, developed by construction company BAM, will feature all single, en suite rooms accommodating a total of 269 beds. Each of the single rooms will be equipped with flat screen televisions and Freeview. It will also incorporate three operating theatres with a pair of dedicated theatres for orthopaedic surgery, a CT scanner, hydrotherapy pool as well as a midwife-led maternity wing.
The building will further house a mental health department comprising 53 beds as well as an enhanced minor injuries wing. There will be a short stay unit fitted with 28 beds to serve patients staying during the night. Most of the rooms of the facility will allow views of the surrounding landscape.
