The Zagreb Airport terminal project is part of an investment programme announced in September 2010.
Aéroports de Paris or ADP (Paris Airports) – the airport authority that owns and manages 14 civil airports and airfields in Paris; and the Houston Airport System have expressed interest in bidding for the Zagreb Airport contract.
The new terminal of approximately 65,600 square metre of floor space will be designed to be five times greater than the current terminal. The new terminal has been designed as a result of an international architectural and urban planning competition, which was won by a consortium comprising Civil Engineering Institute of Croatia (IGH), Neidhardt Arhitekti and Kincl. The new passenger terminal will be constructed in three phases.
Zagreb Airport, a publicly owned company, is Croatia’s largest airport and handles over two million passengers and 12 000 tonnes of cargo annually.
