The building was originally planned to get a complete makeover into a state-of-the-art technology school about a decade ago. However, foot dragging and rising costs forced the project to be downsized to a renovation of an addition to the school’s annex, which was built in 1959.

The architect of the original plan withdrew from the project. The interested firms will have to wait till February 10, 2009 to submit proposals to the Joint Schools Construction Board, which is overseeing the project.

The new version of the plan could increase enrollment from 200 to 500 students. However, construction will not begin until the fall of 2010.
