In the refurbishment project, HI-MACS acrylic stone has been used to create a flowing linear design, which delivers a striking space-creating effect on the interior of the central reception area and adjoining waiting area. The organic design is a clear contrast to the surrounding original architecture, which creates a juxtaposition of old and new within the space.
It includes a 22 metre long curve in the new working space, which features specially made furniture and fittings made of HI-MACS natural Acrylic Stone. The organic shapes create the atmosphere of a room-within-a-room, with its communicative and creative openness expressing the company‘s forward-thinking culture.
In addition to that the office features wall openings and recesses in various sizes as well as fine graphic openings, which create visual links with the surrounding conference areas and allows light into the interior of the lounge.
The plants located in the space between this area and the front wall of the building is visible through the wall openings, which in turn create a pleasing aesthetic effect.
The agency also features white elegant furniture made of HI-MACS, which creates a link between informal work and waiting areas within a flowing lounge environment, providing the waiting visitors glimpses of the internal workings of the agency.
The lounge is used as an experimental multi-media environment for new technical developments. The use of the futuristic solid surface material HI-MACS with its universal qualities, seamless finish, thermal formability, robustness and warm appearance, emphasises the new aesthetic of the working environment. Finished with details and special design features, the CNC-milled and back-lit agency logo has been integrated in the HI-MACS reception counter.
To provide the feel of the historic building of an era, when architecture and furniture design featured inlaid detail, the working place also includes made-to-measure furniture in the white solid surface material with olive wood detailing.
HI-MACS is the new generation of solid surface. It is composed of 70% natural stone powder derived from bauxite, 25% high quality acrylic resin and 5% natural pigments.
