In an independent environmental profile report Renderplas PVCu beads achieved the top eco rating available to beading products on the UK construction market. Carried out by Mtech Consult using BRE’s Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) guidelines, Renderplas products, for rendering, plastering and drylining applications, received an “excellent” Ecopoint rating of just 0.004 per kg installed.

The vibrant, ivory-coloured façade of a new healthcare facility and offices in Cornwall posed no problem for the Renderplas range of coloured PVC-U external render beads. Renderplas was able to provide a decorative and durable solution to match the through-coloured render of the £1.9m Wheal Northey Centre, built by Midas Construction on the site of a former tin mine in St Austell. Renderplas Freezes Prices For PVCU Beads

Renderplas is freezing the price of its PVCu beads for plastering, rendering and drylining until 31 March 2011 despite a sharp rise in raw material and packaging costs. Operational efficiencies are enabling the company to offset a 15.5% increase in costs rather than pass these on to customers through higher prices. By scheduling ordering and deliveries to high volume customers according to geographic location, the company has been able to spread order picking and deliveries evenly through the week, optimise loads, and maximise labour efficiencies.

New Standard for Render Beads

Preventing disasters will at last become controllable later this year when EN13914-1 becomes incorporated into British Standards. This Standard permits only PVCu, galvanised steel powder coated with plastic sleeve, or stainless steel to be used in external situations.
