A mural with the ‘Wow’ factor: A project implemented with HIMACS for an innovative dental clinic in Madrid
After months of meticulous work, the renovated Pedroche dental clinic, designed by interior designers from Segadestudio, finally opens its doors. The result of the renovation has been so striking and spectacular that tourists and locals are stopping to photograph the entrance hall of the clinic, which is located near Atocha station. HIMACS has been used to construct different elements in the renovation of this space, among which an impressive and curvaceous illuminated mural catches the eye.
A secondary school turned into a technology campus with HIMACS at the meeting point
Dutch businessman Barry Verdel’s dream was to take his technology company Verdel Digitaal Partner to the next level. With the goal of building an inspiring space for the business as well as the employees; Design & Meer the studio responsible for the design and production, together with VRP architects, took on the project to convert an old secondary school into a workplace and campus dedicated to information and communications technology. The project thus aimed to include high-quality materials, such as HIMACS, and to renovate a building to be used both for the company’s offices as well as a limited amount of housing where younger employees would be able to stay for up to seven years.

When the architecture firm Studio 163 was tasked with transforming a small, dark kitchen into a large, naturally-lit space with a dining area, opening up into the house's garden, the job seemed simple. The real challenge of the project was turning a narrow, poorly-lit room into a large, bright kitchen-diner while making hardly any changes to the building’s façade. The original design of the façade had to be maintained, since this area of London has a marked Art Deco architectural style.

The ability to blend fun with function was one of the main criteria when it came to Hugh Broughton Architects and the recent refurbishment of the library at Thomas’s London Day School in southwest London.
