Floors of Stone building

Historic Past
Our mill has such a varied and interesting history that it is impossible not to fall in love with the place. Dating back to the Domesday Book, the Grade II listed building Cotes Mill still has its original charm. When undertaking the extensive renovations, the mills owner Paul O’Leary wanted to keep the original features, such as the cast iron waterwheel.

Step inside
The showroom is spread across five floors of tile and kitchen displays, antiques and books. As you walk in, you’re met by 145m2 of Light Jerusalem Tumbled Limestone in the 600×900 tile. Views of the pond can be seen from the showroom as you walk up our award winning, freestanding limestone staircase.

Let’s go outside
Wandering outside you can see our external stone displays. Floors of Stone’s managing director, Kathryn Collins, believes in being honest about the products we offer "If people are looking for tiles, they want to know what they are getting and how durable they are. We put our external range outside so that people can walk on them, see what effect the seasons have on them. We want people to be confident in their choice!"

Walk this way
A lot of our customers enjoy having a bit of a potter about the grounds when they visit us. The Cotes Blend Pavers which wind around the plants and lead up to the mill are proving to be a hit. The autumn tones in the pavers are a stark contrast to the pantry blue and chalky white colours of the mill.

Really Wild
I have to admit that I am a bit of a sucker for animals and I think this must be why I enjoy coming into work so much. You would seriously not believe all the different wildlife that you find here, as you sit out on the patio having your lunch. Hard for me to pick a favourite but it probably would have to be our two resident guineafowl as they are completely dippy but incredibly lovable.
