The system has obvious benefits for designers and specifiers who can be confident that the products they choose meet the essential performance and safety requirements; however, the scheme is not a quality mark. It is important to remember that a CE mark only confirms the legal bare minimum of performance.
ACO products that fall within the CPR are fully compliant and documentation is available, however, ACO believes that higher quality standards are vital for any product that is being installed permanently. Therefore ACO design and manufacture products to the full requirements of applicable harmonised standards, not just those required for CE marking, to ensure all aspects of performance and function are of the highest possible standard. In addition, ACO operate quality and environmental management systems such as BS EN ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 to ensure our standards are maintained. Products such as ACO KerbDrain and ACO RoadDrain which require additional certification also carry the BSI Kitemark, which independently verifies that both the product and its production control meet demanding standards on an on-going basis.
