A very large, three storey habitable basement has been retrofitted under and around the existing property, and constructed using 2,100 m3 of concrete made watertight by the addition of Triton’s TT Admix.
The 100 m long x 20 m wide x 11 m deep space will comprise three levels and will incorporate a car park, gym, sauna, plant rooms, lift shafts and home cinema.
Approximately 3000 LM of Triton’s TT Waterstop embedded in to 400 x 310ml tubes of Triton Swellseal Mastic have been used to seal all critical concrete construction joints/interfaces.
A BS 8102 compliant Type C waterproofing system comprising Platon cavity drain membranes has also been specified providing a twin system approach to waterproofing this very high specification basement – which is built in to heavy clay with a high risk of perched water tables. Further risk of water ingress to the basement is also presented by a neighboring playing field from where there is water constantly running through and off towards the site.
Triton’s technical team have been heavily involved with this project since its inception and are continuously monitoring and recording the placement of all the TT Super watertight concrete. Triton is offering a warranty on both the waterproof concrete and the cavity drain membrane system.
The concrete has been supplied by Procon Readymix www.proconreadymix.co.uk
