The jury of experts chose the best products in ten categories ranging from Bath and Wellness, Lifestyle to Transportation and Public Design from over 2250 national and international submissions. The two free-standing baths, BetteArt and BetteLux Silhouette Side by Bette were both judged "Winner" and received a "Special Mention" in the category Bath and Wellness. The two designs are the work of the Potsdam design offices of Tesseraux & Partner.
The BetteArt appealed for its artistically light aesthetics – narrow rim and thin walls – in combination with an extremely durable, strong material, steel/enamel. It was awarded the rating "Winner". In the BetteLux series, Bette managed to combine the exclusive material with timeless design. The BetteLux Silhouette Side was given a "Special Mention". Here, the judges acknowledged the particularly soft edges and transitions that give the impression that the material flowed into its mould like water. The two bath shapes are based, not only on state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, but also on skilled craftsmanship, decided the judges.
These awards for Bette products once again reaffirm the company’s design approach. The BetteArt and BetteLux baths were also rated "Winner" and "Selection" at the Interior Innovation Award 2014. Furthermore, in the same year, the BetteArt washbasisn was also acknowledged at the German Design Award.
"The fact that our products regularly receive design awards is clear confirmation that we are on the right path with our combination of high-quality material and discerning design," comments Sven Rensinghoff, Bette’s Director of Marketing and Product Management. "This gives planners and consumers the confidence of knowing that they are buying timeless, functional design that will continue to endure in the future."
Every year, the German Design Awards acknowledges the most innovative products and projects in product and communication design. The aim of the award, which was presented for the first time in 2012, is to identify and promote trail-blazing trends on the German and international design landscape. Set up by the German Design Council, which has been actively helping to shape the culture of design for 60 years, the awards will be presented at a prestigious ceremony in Frankfurt on 13 February, 2015.
