Barlby High School is a Specialist Sports College in Selby, North Yorkshire, so being able to offer students the best possible sports pitch was very important to them. The school classes themselves as being unique and this is due to their size, all the members of staff pride themselves on knowing every student as an individual and not just a number.
The work was completed by Cleveland Land Services, specialists in civil engineering, drainage, sports facilities construction and maintenance works. They project managed the entire facility, installing Playrite Conqueror 50 – a 3G surfaces that looks like grass and offers similar playing characteristics. The outdoor sports surface was then filled with sand and rubber to allow for studded boots to be used for extra grip and to allow for increased shock absorption. Installed over Playrite Matchpad 2250 provided an extra shock absorbing underlay that will offer extra comfort and increased playing performance for all the students at the School. Conqueror 50 is a dedicated football surface manufactured with fine fibrillated polyethylene fibres to meet the IATS FIFA 1 Star equivalent.
Andrew Earnshaw Contracts Manager for Cleveland Land Services commented how “Cleveland Land Services maintain a good working relationship with Playrite, the carpet arrived on time, was of good quality, and as always it was a pleasure working with Playrite”.
