For the international event in the Canova space on 2 March, attended by some of the leading protagonists of the furniture and kitchen world, a new design was presented, demonstrating a simple combination of elegance and functionality. The creation was named after Simone Piva, artisan, designer and "material artist", who not only designed the product, but also created and styled the display.

HiMacs

The use of HI-MACS® acrylic stone was essential to give a sense of consistency and smoothness to the unique components. Thanks to this material there are no visible seams between different sections, it appears as if each piece was created from a single, larger block of material. In addition, the non-porous surface of the acrylic stone that prevents the infiltration of bacteria and dirt, making it easier to clean, is particularly suitable for kitchens. Finally, the "rubberlike" finish, specifically created by the designer, accentuates the tactile sensation of the elements, making them soft, silky and incredibly warm to the touch.

The new kitchen, an orderly geometric mosaic that blends in with the architecture of the house, was designed to give the space a modern and refined look, easily identifiable and always discreet, highlighting the various colours of food and the chef. It was also created to hide the different appliances when not in use. The washing area with sink and dishwasher, cooking space with electric stove top and oven, as well as the supply area with pantry and fridge are entirely covered in white, hidden within functional elements in a timeless beauty while remaining easily accessible.

This creation is not only an expression of beauty but also a real culinary art tool.

The kitchen is for sale as a whole, and can be customised to suit individual requirements. It is on show at the Milan Design Week April 12-17 2016 Location: Fuorisalone – Spazio Canova, via Tortona 34.
