Co-developed with leading yarn supplier, Aquafil, the innovative product is a first for the carpet tile industry and showcases the benefits of advanced contrast and colour twist technologies, combined with Interface MicrotuftTM yarn construction.
Developed over an 18 month period, Touch of TimberTM delivers a wooden floor in appearance, with all the benefits of a low impact carpet tile.
The collection is made with 100 per cent recycled yarn as standard and is one of the first to feature Interface’s recycled PVB precoat, which has a carbon footprint 80 per cent less than traditional SBR latex precoat. The new range also comes with biobased formaldehyde-free glass fleece as standard in the backing.
Mandy Leeming, Design and Development Manager for Interface EMEA, explained: "Touch of TimberTM is a first for Interface, Aquafil and the carpet tile industry. Customers want the look of a natural floor, but the hard materials used are not a practical solution for many commercial spaces given the transfer of noise, so this is the perfect solution offering a distinctive aesthetic, great underfoot comfort, slip resistance and acoustic benefits."
Luca Bertamini, Head of Customer Technical Service at Aqualfil, added: "Aquafil is thrilled with the collaboration between our Research and Development team and the Interface design team to create these unique-look collections using ECONYL® yarn. By merging Aquafil’s technical ingenuity and expertise with Interface’s creativity, we have developed a product unlike any other in the industry."
Touch of TimberTM is available in 25cm x 100cm skinny planks, allowing for easy installation, and 12 colourways.
In addition to Touch of TimberTM, Interface is also introducing two more new collections, Twist and Shine™ and Silver Linings™.
Twist and Shine™
The Twist and Shine™ collection is made up of Twist and Shine Micro, and Twist and Shine Loop, both of which offer exceptional performance and broadloom appearance using colour twist technology. Twist and Shine Micro is available in 12 colourways and uses Interface’s PVB precoat, while Twist and Shine Loop is available in nine colourways. Both ranges are available in 50 x 50 cm tiles.
