Stamford Bridge

Its not just these prestigious properties that our collections have been used, we recently discovered our designer switches and sockets had been used in the development of a new stand at Stamford Bridge back in 1975.

Wandsworth

The first part of a planned major redevelopment at Stamford Bridge our brass light switches and sockets were used throughout the new stand, known as the East Stand and was the only section of this major redevelopment that was completed. Opening at the start of the 1974-75 season, the stand still survives today, despite the major ground redevelopment that took place in the mid-90’s and is a three-tiered cantilevered design. The East Stand is known as the heart of the stadium as it houses the tunnel, dugout, dressing rooms, conference rooms and commentary boxes.

At the time of the development Chelsea were a mid-ranked second division team but included some club legends, Peter Bonnetti, Ron Harris and Captain Ray Wilkins within the team. We placed an advert within the match-day programme for the home game versus Hull City on the 18th February to highlight our involvement in the development of the new stand and for the record the game ended 0-0.
