Latham Interiors was founded 6 years ago by Sarah Latham, who studied at both the Interior Design Institute and National Design Academy. As the daughter of a renowned conservation architect, she developed a passion for Georgian interiors and her practice now specialises in Georgian and Regency properties all over the UK from its offices in Surrey and Bath.
In Autumn 2016, Latham Interiors unveiled an elegant new show home in Bath, a major heartland of Georgian architecture. Over the course of six months, they turned a humble and unique space located in Bath’s historic Walcot area, into an inspiring and atmospheric three bedroomed apartment showcasing their signature style: classic, elegant and English with a contemporary twist. The design aim of the property was to create the perfect balance between classic and contemporary by using the proportions and space of the period property to its best advantage.
To complement the interior design, Wandsworth’s premium collections of handcrafted designer light switches and sockets were chosen to feature throughout the property. The Antique Bronze Penthouse Collection from Wandsworth were used in the kitchen and living space as it matched the Samuel Heath bronze kitchen tap, the kitchen handles and also blends well with the antique mirrored glass.
Blending classic elegance with modern requirements, USB integrated sockets from this Collection were installed to enable easy charging of smart devices. Wandsworth Controls were used to provide quality LED dimming for the Tom Dixon pendant lights and an ‘all off’ switch was installed at the exit for ultimate energy efficiency.
The design of the Master Bedroom blends both contemporary and traditional styles and features eye-catching Crackle wallpaper by Zimmer & Rohde that is enhanced by Wandsworth’s Bronze Penthouse Collection of screwless light switches and sockets.
The guest bedroom features Wandsworth’s USB chargers and sockets from the Crystal Collection, chosen so that the stunning wallpaper ‘Free Fall’ by Juliette Travers appears uninterrupted due to invisibility of the sockets. In contrast the Penthouse Collection iNickel was used for all the light switches.
Founder of Latham Interiors, Sarah Latham commented, "When we embarked on the project Wandsworth Electrical were the supplier of choice due to their wide collection of electrical accessories with numerous finishes. We knew the small details would be taken care of and we were also able to specify special plates with 5 and six gang plates unique to this project. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship and expertise guarantees high quality products and specials that have enhanced the overall look and feel of every room. ‘Visit wandsworthelectrical.com for more information.
