Following the acquisition by Ennismore, the developer behind The Hoxton, in 2015, the new owners felt the hotel interiors required a refresh to provide an immersive experience. Enlisting three practices, David Collins Studio, Goddard Littlefair and Macaulay Sinclair, all whom worked with Ennismore in-house design team. Each were tasked with creating elegant and contemporary interiors to enhance the guest experience whilst representing the heritage and identity of Gleneagles and Scotland. In this first phase of the refurbishment, they concentrated on the Century & American Bar, The Glendevon, a semi-circular lounge which offers dramatic views of the surrounding hills, the Dormy Clubhouse, Foyer and 30 bedrooms.
The design teams turned to Wandsworth Electrical to supply a selection of designer light switches and plug sockets, finished in a special brass to help blend into the rooms design and help create the immersive experience the owners wished to produce. From the Classic Square Edge collection ,rocker switches were chosen and complimented by plug sockets from the same collection and finished in the same custom brass look. Wandsworth also supplied the shaver sockets in Super Mirror Stainless finish for the bathrooms in the revamped rooms.
We understand the importance of the finer details and therefore ensure we always produce electrical accessories that provide the highest quality. This attention to detail and technical excellence is why we are selected by leading designers on iconic projects, where quality paramount.
Gleneagles is one of a number of leading hotels that have utilised Wandsworth Electricals handcrafted designer light switches, other recent notable hotels include Lympstone Manor by Chef Michael Caines in Devon and The NED in the heart of the city of London.
