A design classic: The Starck barrel vanity unit shown above in American Walnut, Black and White High Gloss

The range of surface finishes for this timeless piece has since been extended: In addition to the oak real-wood veneers and fine-grained dark Macassar, the design icon is also available in American Walnut and in Black or White High Gloss.

The makings of the design classic
The conically shaped downward-tapering unit on which the circular ceramic washbasin stands is based on glued plywood which has undergone a multi-stage curving process. On the outside it is covered either with a real-wood veneer which is protected by a melamine resin finish or with a paintable laminate in preparation for the subsequent high-gloss paint finish. After producing the door cut-outs, a wall connector is attached on the rear side for subsequent connection of the water inlet and outlet piping. The components of each individual barrel are provided with serial numbers, to ensure that the right components are fitted together to achieve a veneer finish with a seamless look. Each barrel is thus a unique one-off product incorporating a wealth of manual craftsmanship.

Inside, the barrel is lined with high-quality black laminate. A glass shelf with chrome rail structures the storage space. The quadrant-shaped, curved doors facilitate access by virtue of a wide opening angle. Shining chrome handles add the finishing touch.
