MEDITERRANEAN ORANGE
As bright as a Seville orange, tiles with gorgeous glazes and intense pops of colours were to be seen amongst the Spanish tile manufacturers’ new products. Either used to create different compositional possibilities and mixed with other neutral tiles or used singularly to create impressive blocks of colour, orange from soft terracotta to vibrant citrus is a popular choice.

RICHLY VEINED
Marvellous marble-effects are steady sellers, but this year the veining effects of new products are increasingly dramatic in design and the more sumptuously striated the better. Bathroom splashbacks and kitchen countertops made the most of the striations in large-format porcelains that cleverly imitated the premium marbles. Black was a noticeable winner with all black and pure black decorative schemes making a dramatic impact, but closely followed by all white, all grey and all golden tones.

RUSTY METAL
Tones of copper, brass and other metals with a rusty finish are an important interiors story with a Corten-effect finding its way into bathrooms and kitchens. Metal-effect porcelains are tapping into the trend for an industrial vibe and the rusty or coppery finish is a warmer variation on the original factory look.
