- Sheets of steel are moulded into the shape required
- The steel is welded together to create the product
- The product is sprayed with a layer of enamel, which can be in almost any colour
- The product is fired in a kiln so that the enamel and the steel bond to one, exceptionally strong material
ADVANTAGES OF BETTE GLAZED TITANIUM-STEEL
Durable and easy to clean
The glass-like BetteGlaze® surface of Bette baths, shower floors and washbasins is harder than marble, plastic or epoxy granite, non-porous, scratch-resistant and easy to clean.
Dirt and chemicals/liquids cannot penetrate the surface, so can be simply wiped away. Even nail polish will not mark it.
It retains its shine and colour, even after years of use and cleaning. The durability and ease of cleaning are the reasons the majority of hotels choose glazed/enamelled steel for their baths, and why Bette is able to offer a 30 year warranty on its products.
The secret behind BetteGlaze® is the strength of its ultra-thin enamel layer. Like a fine glass fibre, it remains flexible and resilient.
Hygienic
Dirt and bacteria are unable to adhere to the glass-hard, non-porous surface of BetteGlaze®. This makes it highly superior to softer materials or tiled floor areas.
A strong and stable steel product beneath the enamel surface
All Bette products are made of strong and stable titanium-steel for superior strength and formability. This means that Bette can, for example, produce shower trays in very large sizes that remain extremely stable. The material also allows the creation of extremely slim rimmed baths that are also strong and stable.
Hundreds of colours
Bette products are finished in enamel that is fired in a kiln, and the enamel can be created in hundreds of different colours. This means Bette can produce baths, shower floors and washbasins in a huge range of colours. There is a choice of gloss or matt finishes available and Bette can even colour-match ceramic items, such as tiles.
Bespoke and made to measure
Bette’s flexible manufacturing process means that customers can order bespoke sized products, such as a shower tray or fitted bath in the exact size required (perhaps to fit inside a recess) The steel product can be trimmed or extended before enamelling so that it’s the exact size the customer needs.
A natural and recyclable material
Bette baths, shower floors and washbasins are made from entirely natural materials and are 100% recyclable. Bette has also invested heavily in green technologies at its factory in Germany and creates 2/3 of its energy requirements from renewable resources. Sustainability is central to Bette’s approach, and this is confirmed by the company‘s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) which complies with ISO 14025 and EN15804.
Almost invisible anti-slip
Bette’s almost invisible anti-slip surface; BetteAntislip Pro offers a high level of slip resistance but does not detract from the elegant enamelled surface.
Warm
Enamelled titanium-steel is a perfect heat conductor which is an advantage in terms of bathing. Baths quickly absorb and save the warmth of the bath water, including in the neck area and around the edge, for a comfortable, warm bath that is a pleasure to be in.
No silicone needed between bath/shower tray and the wall tiles
Bette can create a special ‘upturn’ of the bath or shower floor edge which means you won’t need silicone where the bath/shower floor meets the wall tiles. The special BetteUpstand is simply tiled over during installation for an easy to clean, durable edge. The upstand is created along the edges as required by the customer.
