Custom-made in HIMACS Sapphire, it fits harmoniously with the rest of the residence’s modern interior design, all while guaranteeing the highest levels of hygiene and safety, thanks to the properties inherent to the solid surface material.
The main goal of this renovation project, known as VA8, was to convert the apartment into tourist accommodation. The owners wanted to be able to offer the bedrooms as short-term rentals, so they requested an elegant, modern design, laid out intelligently and using durable, easy-to-maintain materials.
One of the first and main challenges facing DC.AD was to increase the number of bedrooms from two to three, something that required a complete redesign of the floor plan. Since the rooms were to be rented out separately, the project managers included a bathroom and wardrobe space in each of them, maximizing the space. Each room was also given its own identity by applying specific colours consistently and comprehensively to most of the surfaces, creating three immersive and impactful environments.
Taking advantage of the abundant natural light enjoyed by the apartment, the architectural firm was able to play with a variety of colours in its interior design, from the most arresting orange to more neutral tones like pearl grey and soft green. The modern, minimalist furniture reinforces the youthfulness of this home, which is intended to offer convenience and charm to its guests. In addition, the built-in bedroom wardrobes are painted the same colour as the walls, giving each room a more spacious feel.
The firm also reorganised the daytime areas, placing them next to the apartment’s front door and its patio. For its part, the kitchen was designed to connect to and serve as a continuation of the living room.
In the dining area, the star of the show is the round table, from the HIMACS Lucent range, in Sapphire blue. Custom-made with flowing lines and a modern aesthetic, it fits perfectly with the rest of the room’s decorations, while adding a touch of colour.
The decision to use the solid surface material for this furniture was an easy one. HIMACS is a most suitable material, especially in spaces where food is handled, since its seamless, non-porous nature ensures optimal hygiene and cleanliness.
When designing the apartment, the Lucent collection from HIMACS was the obvious choice for the team at DC.AD. The way its different models react to light – with exceptional translucence – helps to enhance the sense of light and space in any room. Plus, it adds a touch of refinement, thanks to its wide variety of available colours and the creative freedom afforded by a solid surface.
