French interior expert Schmidt is proud to announce that it will showcase a wide range of products at this year’s Grand Designs Live, their first-ever exhibition in the UK. Taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from 4-8 October, this hugely popular self-build, renovation and home show is the perfect platform for Schmidt to share its innovative and trend-leading furniture with homeowners, interior designers, architects, builders and anyone interested in interiors and forward-thinking style and function.
The Schmidt showcase, which can be found on Stand K68, is an impressive 50 square metres in size and features a large kitchen complete with floor-to-ceiling cupboards, a huge waterfall island topped with Dekton by Cosentino’s Laurent ultracompact surface with its dramatic dark brown background crisscrossed with veins of gold, and the new Neff Collection, a unique series of appliances that offer distinctive customisation options to create a personalised kitchen. The kitchen area also includes a Work’n’Hide home bar for entertaining, with pocket doors to conceal clutter from view.
On the opposite side to the kitchen is Schmidt’s bedroom zone leading onto a made-to-measure utility room and laundry area, also accessed via a secret door hidden within the wall units at the rear of the kitchen. To complete the whole home set-up, the stand also includes a multifunctional office area. All flooring is the new Palio LooseLay Lampione from Karndean.
“With over 500 showrooms worldwide, Schmidt decided to join the exhibitions circuit to promote our visionary brand. Besides high-quality kitchen solutions, we want to share our premium made-to-measure furniture solutions for the entire house, including dressing rooms, living rooms, and utility rooms. We aim to help customers unleash their home's potential with timeless designs & customisation. A large fair like Grand Design Live is the perfect platform to help us reach a wider audience and reinforce our commitment to product excellence. At this, our first major exhibition in the UK, we are proud to have prestigious brands such as Neff, Cosentino, Karndean and COAT joining us on our stand.”

All partition walls of the Schmidt stand are painted with COAT paints. COAT is the world’s first Climate Positive paint company – double offsetting their carbon emissions – and mixing sustainable, high-grade paint that is made to order in a range of timeless colours.
COAT have utilised their bespoke colour matching service for the stand, providing bespoke shades from their extended trade palette of over 1,000 colours.
Soon, COAT paints will be available to Schmidt’s customers to use on their painted furniture ranges, in an exclusive tie-up between the two companies.
The SCHMIDT and COAT Paints collaboration will bring the worlds of kitchen design and interior paint closer than ever before and will unlock huge creative possibilities to homeowners, because what’s inside counts.
