German enamelled steel bathroom specialist, Bette, has continued to upgrade its flush-to-floor shower area offer with the launch of new sizes which follow the launch of the company's barely visible anti-slip surface and integral BetteUpstand, for no silicone where the shower floor meets the wall tiles.
The BetteFloor and BetteFloor Side (with the outlet to the side, rather than in the centre) are now available in a total of 69 different options, a huge range of colours to coordinate with flooring and are covered by the company's 30 year warranty.
The award-winning BetteFloor is an enamelled steel, flush to floor shower area that is like one large tile, which is permanently water-proof, easy to clean, hygienic and, with its angular corners, fits perfectly into the floor tiling pattern. With the BetteFloor Side option, it is available with the waste outlet to the side, rather than in the centre, for a large comfortable standing area.
As a continuous surface, without the joints of a tiled area, BetteFloor and BetteFloor Side ensure perfect hygiene and ease of care. Bacteria and germs do not have a breeding ground on the inorganic, enamel surface and dirt and soap can be washed away easily from the robust BetteGlaze® enamel surface.
Bette has launched five new rectangular sizes in its BetteFloor Side option. The new sizes range from 110 x 90 cm to 160 x 100 cm, making BetteFloor Side now available in 21 sizes. Square options are available from 90 x 90 cm to 120 x 120 cm and rectangular options from 100 x 80 cm to 160 x 120 cm. BetteFloor is available in 48 sizes, including corner versions. All are available in 22 matt colours and a huge range of other colours, to enable the shower floor to be integrated into the bathroom floor.
BARELY VISIBLE ANTI-SLIP
Bette has launched a new anti-slip option for its enamelled steel shower floors which provides a high level of slip resistance and safety but is barely visible, so does not detract from the elegant enamelled steel surface.
New BetteAntislip Pro is the ideal solution for stylish private bathrooms that require additional anti-slip protection or commercial situations, such as hotels, that need to conform to safety standards. It meets a high safety standard of R10 and is created using a special enamel layer which has a rough surface that is virtually undetectable to the touch or the eye. It increases showering safety over the entire surface, while being very comfortable to walk on and almost invisible.
The new surface is extremely durable, easy to clean and hygienic and will remain in its original state, even after years of use. It can be applied to Bette's glossy white shower areas, and also to most of the matt shades in the BetteFloor Colour World, which are chosen by over 40% of Bette customers for shower floors.
Comments Sven Rensinghoff, head of marketing at Bette: "We are seeing an increase in sales of our flush-to-floor shower areas, in ever-larger sizes, and are also finding that more customers are interested in anti-slip options. Since we launched our new, barely visible BetteAntiSlip Pro, we are seeing a considerable increase in customers selecting anti-slip, because it does not impact on the stylish look of the shower floor."
NO SILICONE BETWEEN SHOWER FLOOR AND TILES
The BetteUpstand option is an integral enamelled steel 'upstand' of the BetteFloor Side edge which does away with the need for silicone where the shower floor meets the tiles, making mouldy and cracked silicone joints a thing of the past. The 35 mm high upturn of the steel shower floor edge is over-tiled by 10 mm during installation, ensuring a hygienic, durable and easy to clean edge to the wall.
Sven Rensinghoff adds: " We are finding that more customers want to buy products that will continue to look good for years to come, and BetteUpstand creates a clean and durable meeting of the shower floor and the wall tiles. This makes the shower area even more long lasting and easy to clean, which is excellent for private homes and a major benefit for hotels.
"More customers are also taking into account their future needs, with some choosing to remove a bath and replace it with a very large flush-to-floor shower area that provides freedom of movement and, as well as looking spacious and contemporary, is safe and easy to use, as there is no rim to step over. "
NEW FAST AND SAFE UNIVERSAL INSTALLATION SYSTEM
Bette has introduced a new simplified, fast and safe installation system for its flat shower floors and trays which offers uncomplicated installation, good stability, sound insulation, and water-tightness in one.
The universal fitting kit enables Bette shower areas to be fitted quickly and easily. The installation system's height can be adjusted from 75mm up to 215mm and the mounting frame fits all Bette shower areas and flat shower trays (from 2.5 to 6.5 cm), whether they are to be installed flush-to-floor or on a tiled plinth. This means the installer will always have the correct system for installation of all Bette shower areas.
QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS
Sven Rensinghoff comments: "Bette has developed its own advanced steel moulding process, which ensures a uniform thickness across the product, to ensure stability and a perfect surface for the enamel. We also use steel that is finished with titanium for better formability and stability. Our special enamel process allows us to deliver the optimum depth of enamel to the surface, and it is the fineness of the layer that makes it so strong and flexible – in the same way that a fine glass fibre is much stronger and flexible than a thicker glass rod."
Bette enamelled steel baths, shower floor and washbasins are highly durable, come with a 30 year warranty and are also 100% recyclable. They are made from the natural raw materials of steel, finished with the unique BetteGlaze® enamel finish, which is made from water, glass, quartz, borax and soda. Sustainability and natural materials have always been central to Bette's approach, with a major focus on energy-efficient production. The ecological quality of the Bette product range is confirmed by an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) which complies with ISO 14025.
